27-01-01-01. Organization of job service North Dakota. 1. History. The employment security bureau was organized as a separate state agency in 1965. It is administered by a full-time salaried executive director who is subject to the supervision and direction of the governor. The name of the bureau was changed to job service North Dakota in 1979. 2. Divisions. There is established within the bureau three coordinate divisions. The unemployment compensation division, the state employment service division, and the administrative services division. Each division is administered by a full-time salaried director selected on a nonpartisan merit basis who is subject to the supervision and direction of the bureau. a. The unemployment compensation division is responsible for the collection of taxes and payment of benefits as prescribed in North Dakota Century Code title 52. b. The state employment service division is responsible for the establishment of an employment system under the provisions of the Wagner Peyser Act. c. The administrative services division is responsible for the financial management, data processing, research and analysis, personnel and training, and administrative services for the bureau. d. The office of the deputy executive director has line authority for all local office activities operated by the bureau. 3. Inquiries.
