33-04-11-01. General provisions. 1. When for reasons satisfactory to the state registrar a death or fetal death record cannot be completed within the time period specified by North Dakota Century Code sections 23-02.1-19 and 23-02.1-20, the state registrar may grant an extension. 2. The subregistrar may issue a burial-transit permit once the facts of death are filed with the state registrar. 3. In all cases, a completed death record must be filed with the state registrar after a period of no more than thirty days after an extension has been granted.
