37-11-03-02. Urban locations. An applicant for a tourist-oriented directional sign located within the limits of a city must also obtain the written consent of the city to erect the sign. In addition, the location and erection of an urban tourist-oriented sign may not: 1. Block or obstruct the visibility of official traffic-control devices. 2. Hinder pedestrian or bicycle traffic. 3. Be located closer than two feet [.61 meters] to the face of a curb on a highway having curb and gutter. The spacing requirements of section 37-11-03-06 do not apply to urban locations.
